Meet Rachel Suzanne
Rachel brings her playful illustration style to the popular 2023 release, How to Hatch a Reader, written by Kari Ann Gonzalez. This book is a favorite "go-to" story for parents, teachers, and curious chicks alike. Rachel's adorable illustrations pair perfectly with this guide to hatching young readers, filled with tools to allow words to fly off the pages. But watch out! Rachel's fox is sure to cause a stir in the coop!
When you're done reading the first book, you'll be egg-cited to see what Rachel does with How to Hatch a Writer, releasing with GRP in the fall of 2025. Those fabulous hens return with their big red pens to teach sneaky "Goldifox" a thing or two about writing whole sentences.
Rachel graduated from Birmingham City University with a First class honours in Visual Communication, specialising in illustration. She lives with her family, pet parrot Maggie and two cats. She enjoys creating work through the process of crossing traditional printmaking, digital art and experimental mark making.
Rachel loves to tell stories and bring characters to life. Her first picture book with Julie Fulton - Bears Don't Eat Egg Sandwiches - was published in November 2017. Rachel illustrated Rochelle Hume's first picture book - The Mega Magic Hair Swap - which is published in February 2019 and The Mega Magic Teacher Swap published in 2020. She is represented by Paul Moreton of the Bell Lomax Moreton agency.
